ZOXZONE INTERNET GATEWAY
The ZoxZone Internet Gateway manages the critical tasks of directing the Internet traffic, validating user accounts and monitoring usage for billing. Access to ZoxZone is regulated and managed through a user account validation and authorization system. Once access has been granted, the activity of the account is monitored against the purchased duration and serviced appropriately. Your customer’s use is logged and reported for billing purposes.

In order for all of this occur, the Gateway has been equipped with an integrated suite of network and account management services. An IP Router, DHCP and DNS Servers are included to manage the connectivity and data transfer tasks. A firewall and SSL (Secure Socket Layer) support are included for security. Customers can connect to the ZoxZone system via wireless or wireline networking. For details of the different network connections, click on the link below:

ZOXZONE GATEWAY SERVICES

	Service	Description
	Firewall	Provides security for server from unauthorized users.

	DHCP Server	Creates dynamic IP addresses for users logging into server.

	IP Router	Directs network traffic to and from the appropriate user.

	User Authentication	Matches user ID and password to authorized accounts.

	Bandwidth Allocation	Dynamically allocates available bandwidth among connected users.

	Access Usage & Billing	Monitors connection time per user and logs for accounting purposes.

User authentication is done either through matching to an approved account (i.e. prepaid access cards or subscription) or through a validated credit card transaction. Integration with property management systems such as Fidelio is also possible through the extensible architecture of the ZoxZone Gateway.

The Gateway is administered through a Web based interface. This enables the Gateway to be administered remotely and updated as needed. All of the system configuration and management settings are done through this interface.

In addition, the ZoxZone welcome, log-in and help pages are served from the Gateway. Access usage is a critical factor which needs to be constantly monitored and referenced for each user that is using the system. The Gateway manages this task and updates the user authorization accordingly, ceasing access once the purchased lease period has expired.
